Why juice, you may ask? I personally have loads of energy through out the day when I have a juice first thing in the morning with my breakfast and it beats that 3 p.m. crash we can find ourselves in mid-morning. Juicing is also known to beat the cold and flu virus when it comes around and is a fun and yummy way to eat more fruits and vegetables. I know for me when I juice, I rarely ever get sick or come down with the flu. I like to use the NutriBullet because it saves me time and whatever you put in it, you drink it. It's easy to clean up and you get more minerals and vitamins in your system by not draining the pulp or skin.
Two of my favorite morning rituals when it comes to juicing are first, boosting my protein smoothie before I work out. A favorite recipe of mine inspired by Dr. Axe but, with my own twist on it is; 1 cup of unsweetened almond or coconut milk, 1 cup kale, 1/2 cup blueberries, 1/2 tsp. of coconut oil, 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon, 1 scoop of protein powder of your choice, and 1/2 cup of ice (optional). These super foods boost weight loss and are nutrient dense. Not too mention it sure does beat the boredom of your typical protein powder and water mix. Next, my favorite green juice recipe is found at Nekter Juice Bar called, The Greenie. I'll make this recipe at home in my NutriBullet and add a slice of ginger, 1 scoop of my Primal Plants, and 1/2 tsp. of spirulina. Another bonus is the Primal Plants makes your juice taste like a green jolly rancher. Yum!
I hope these simple tips might encourage you to give juicing a try. If you dare to try any of this recipes, products, or find a combo you like, I'd love to hear about it! Send me a message and maybe your personal tips or review will be my next post...What's in your juice?
