//A Flower Doesn't Compete With The Flower Next To It...//

"A flower does not think about competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms." - Zen Shin

Who says you have to be like everyone else? Who told you that you don't measure up, aren't good enough, or too inadequate? God proved His love for us in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Your worth and value are found in Him who created you, not the magazines that inspire you or compete for your attention. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be," Psalm 139:13-16. You are one of a kind! There is no one like you. You are an original. Your image is a reflection of the Creator, not a second rate version of another impostor. Genesis 1:27 states, "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."

You might be thinking, "Whoa. That's a lot to take in!" With all this to be said, You don't have to compete with her. You know who I'm talking about. The unrealistic image of perfection we dream up in our thoughts or perceptions of others. We hear the lies whispered to our souls that someone else's success means our demotion. We compare ourselves to the her in our social media feed, t.v. screens, the books we read, our neighbors in our cal-de-sac, our social circles, peers, colleagues, coworkers, friends, siblings, and yes, even the characters in the Bible. We think if we could just be less like ourselves and more like them, all would be right in the world. However, this frame of mind and way of thinking is simply not true. It is a lie. It's a lie that we believe or story we've recited to ourselves for far too long. It's been ingrained in our human reasoning and rebuttals.

When we lean on the truth in God's word that we are made in His image, chosen, called, equipped, and loved, we don't have to compete with another her again. We can bloom were we are planted. In other words, God's plans for you are a definite thing. His ways are perfect and His timing never late. If we fashion ourselves under His perfection for our lives, we won't have to live chasing the wind, but resting in His goodness and mercy. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future," Jeremiah 29:11. #Chosen
