//By The Grace of God, I'm Finally A Published Author//

Galatian 6:9 - "And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint."

It's a wonderful feeling to finally say, "Yup. I'm a published author." However, this came at the expense of much hard work, dedication, setbacks, obstacles, weariness, and even a season of sorrow. This book I have wrote, "A Collection of Confessions - For The Woman of Faith," is just that, a collection of my personal confessions.

I started writing this book two years ago, you could say. In a season of sorrow and heaviness. I didn't even know at the time that the confessions I was writing then, would one day turn into a book. But, God. God had bigger plans for me back then and He stills does for me today. Just like He has big plans for you! In John 10:10, Jesus reminds us, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." It's that "God-perspective," He was trying to get me to see and believe in then. Like Job put it best, "I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes." - Job 42:5. We can easily get stuck in a rut in life. Consumed by our own problems. We fix our eyes on what's in front of us, instead of Who is in front of us. When all along, it's in Jesus that we find everything we could ever want or need in this life.

During a season of testing and trials, my faith was being exercised. Just like Jesus's disciples, I experienced the meaning of what Luke meant when he wrote in Luke 8:22, "One day Jesus said to His disciples, 'Let us go over to the other side of the Lake.' So they got into a boat and set out." That's Jesus for you. He is always trying to get us to the other side in life. The other side of that fear. The other side of what's holding you back in life. The other side of that broken, but still mendable relationship. The other side of that shattered and never coming back, relationship. The other side of that diagnosis. The other side of that failure. The other side of that addiction. The other side. The other side of God's plans for our life. It's in these moments and this life's journey, hand-in-hand with Jesus, that He takes us to the other side of everything that we thought was going to take us out. That we realize, He had bigger plans for us all along.

During my season of heaviness and sorrow, I felt I hit a rut of discontentment in my life. I wasn't happy about my life because it hadn't turned out the way I had always dreamed it would be. I had my own plans on how my life was supposed to go. I thought I was going to have this and that before a certain age. I thought I was going to have this certain job, and be married to this certain person, and make that certain amount of money. I thought my own ideas of how my life was supposed to turn out was going to give me the happiness that I so desperately craved. However, I learned that joy doesn't come from what we perceive our life is to be. Our joy comes from the one who made us and His name is Jesus.

I allowed Jesus to re-write my story. I allowed Jesus to show me what he had in store for me. I opened up my heart just enough to realize that nothing I could have dreamed about could ever compare to what God has in store for His children. Ephesians 3:20 reminds us, "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us..." I finally had to take my hands off the death grip I had on my own life, and allow my Savior, who knows me better than myself, lead me. As it is written in Psalm 139:16 - "Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book."
