Meal Prep 101: Smoothie Packs

A simple and quick meal prep tip that will save you loads of money and give your taste buds a luxurious treat!

If you are in search for the perfect breakfast or meal on-the-go, then look no further, because you hit the jack pot! If you want to eat healthy, but don't have the time or money to rely on fancy smoothie shops, this is your go-to meal prep tip! A fancy smoothie at your local establishment could cost you anywhere from $10-$20 per smoothie! That's a lot of money if you wanted to enjoy one of these "nutritional-packed powerhouses" daily. So, I came up with an idea that has saved me lots of time and money over the years by meal prepping my smoothie packs. You simply portion out what you need for each smoothie, in ziplock baggies, and store in your freezer! Then when you are ready to enjoy, you just empty your ingredients in your blender, add your protein powder and liquid, and be on your way to your busy, but productive day with "healthy success" in your cup! Read on below and give your tastebuds the luxurious treat they've been waiting for... or watch my meal prep video for more great tips!

Smoothie Pack Base:

*Fill a ziplock baggie with ingredients below, and store in freezer

  • 1 handful greens (ex: spinach, kale, or mix)

  • 1/2 banana, sliced

  • 1/2 cup berries (my favorite: frozen strawberries and frozen blueberries)

  • 1 tbsp. nut butter of choice

  • 1/4 cup gluten-free oats

  • Optional: 1 celery stock, chopped or 5 baby carrots, chopped

Luxurious Add-on's:

*Choose as many as you want, and add to your ziplock baggie with ingredients above, and store in freezer

My Favorite Protein & Collagen Powders:

*Choose 1 Protein Powder or 1 Scoop Collagen and 1/2 Scoop Protein Powder

If you want to make your smoothie packs last for a week or two, then fill 7-14 ziplock baggies with your ingredients from your "Smoothie Pack Base List," and as many as you want from your "Luxurious Add-on's List," and store in the freezer. When you are ready to enjoy, then empty your ziplock baggie into your blender (I use the Nutribullet). Then add your protein powder and collagen powder (I do 1 scoop collagen powder and 1/2 scoop protein powder). Along with 1 - 1 1/2 cups of liquid of choice (My favorite is Simple Truth, organic, coconut milk). Blend ~ Sip ~ Enjoy!
